The Entry Process
How can I be sure you have received my entry?
You will see a confirmation page noting your entry and will also receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your entry. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 48 hours, please email ThePrankAwards@gmail.com.
Entry Terms and Conditions
The Prank Awards assumes all entries are original and the entrant either owns the work or has permission from a client or other appropriate party to enter the work, with all rights granted therein. In the event that an entrant without such rights submits an entry, the entrant will not be eligible for the competition. The Prank Awards are not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Submission of any entry acknowledges the right of The Prank Awards to use it for exhibition and publication in any medium. This includes, but is not limited to, The Prank Awards People’s Choice entries being posted to our public voting section of our website.
Timely submission of an entry meeting the eligibility requirements as stated herein ensures that an entry will be reviewed and considered for recognition. No other representation or warranty is made by The Prank Awards concerning entries and all implied warranties are hereby expressly disclaimed.
If an entry receives an award, the manner and details of announcing such nomination and award is strictly within the discretion of The Prank Awards. Entrant understands that all awards may not be given or publicized in the same manner.
How can I change my entry?
The following information can be changed on an entry at any time by e-mailing us at ThePrankAwards@gmail.com with the following information: – Contact information – Title – Credits. If you would like to change categories, URL, or any other information, please contact us at ThePrankAwards@gmail.com. These elements of an entry can only be changed if the work has not yet been judged. To be safe, it’s best to submit any changes by February 22, 2021 to be absolutely certain.
Do you have to be based in the United States to participate?
No. In fact, we have received entries from several countries, and the International Academy of Pranking boasts membership from more than a dozen countries and continues to grow. The Prank Awards is global.
Does the entry need to be in English?
If there is an English or non-foreign language version of your Prank, we encourage you to enter that. All foreign language websites that are reviewed by an English-speaking judge will be translated using Google Translate. If there is an English version of your Prank, we encourage you to enter that. All foreign language Pranks that are reviewed by an English-speaking judge will be translated using Google Translate.
Which category should I enter?
The Prank Awards has several entry types to choose from:
- Best Prank Show – New Media (Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, Snap, etc)
- Best Prank Show – TV (Prank Show for Network or Cable TV)
- Best Day Time TV Prank Segment (Prank Segment for Day Time TV)
- Best Late Night TV Prank Segment (Prank Segment for Late Night TV)
- Best Office Prank
- Best Job Site Prank (Any work related prank outside of an office)
- Best Educational Prank (Engineering and Science Related)
- Best College Prank
- Best April Fools Prank (Must be on or related to April Fools Day)
- Best Radio Show Prank (Any prank from a radio station)
- Best Prank Call
No matter what category you submit to, if it becomes nominated, they are all eligible to be nominated for Prank of the Year as well. If you are having trouble figuring out what category to submit to, feel free to email us and ask.
Can I enter more than one category?
Yes, you can enter your work into as many categories as you deem appropriate, and it will be evaluated separately for each instance and category it is entered. It is not uncommon for exceptional work to be honored in more than one category regardless of media type.
How do you pick the judges for your competitions?
The Prank Awards is overseen by the International Academy of Pranking. Visit The Academy Website to learn more.

Is it possible to receive the judges rating and comments for my site?
The Prank Awards does offer individual comments or ratings to its entrants.
Winning An Award
How many entrants win The Prank Awards?
For each category, the Academy will select five (5) Nominees which represent the five best in the category. Out of the Nominees, one (1) Winner will be selected and will win the coveted Whoopie, the official prize of the Prank Awards in that specific category. Additionally, the online community, through a public vote, will also select one (1) Winner from the Nominees in each category. These sites receive The Prank Award’s Peoples Choice Award. Additionally, entries that are not chosen as Winners or Nominees, but are notable in their achievement, may be recognized as an Official Honoree by the Academy. There may be multiple entries (or no entries) in each category designated an Honoree. We reserve the right to honor less than five nominees in any category should the quality of work not meet standards set by the judging criteria.
What do I get if I win a Prank Award or if my entry is chosen as a Nominee or Honoree?
To help promote achievement, The Prank Awards provides its winners with the notable Whoopie Wall Plaque (additional Plaques can be purchased) and a badge for the winners’ Websites or publications. Nominees and Official Honorees receive a framed certificate and a badge for their Websites and Social Media as well. All Winners, Nominees, and Honorees will be included on the The Prank Award Winners page of the Prank Awards site. Whoopie Winners, Nominees, and Honorees have a great opportunity to promote the recognized entry and the company or team that created it. There is tremendous recognition, prestige and public relations opportunity associated with being selected by The Academy.
How do you ensure that Public Voting is fair and not fixed?
If we detect suspicious activity we will alert the entrant and remove the votes.
The Prank Awards team will be constantly looking for suspicious activity during the People’s Choice campaign. Our security team looks for the following throughout the People’s Choice voting process and investigates suspicious activity including, but not limited:
- email addresses created from automated email APIs and software
- spiked voting from the same IP address or concentrations from a single geographic IP region
- email addresses that match those purchasable at popular bulk email address providers
- large numbers of votes without any referrals
- a large number of votes in a very short period of time
- large numbers of votes with very little site visit time and/or low session time
- users voting multiple times with the same email, usually via abuse of the Gmail + (plus) or . (period) functionality
- votes from sequential email addresses
Can I buy additional Prank Award Plaques or Nominee and Honoree framed certificates for members of my team, clients and others if I win?
Yes. Additional awards, certificates, and merchandise can be purchased. Please contact ThePrankAwards@gmail.com for more information.
Delivery/Shipping Policy: Each plaque is custom produced. We produce plaques in the order that orders are received. Typically, plaques will be shipped to you approximately eight weeks from the date that we receive your order. Once your order ships, you will receive email confirmation with tracking details for your order.
For merchandise, you may request a refund for your transaction prior to it being sent to the manufacturer for processing and fulfillment. Please send an email to ThePrankAwards@gmail.com to confirm eligibility of refund. Once confirmed, refunds will be processed within 5 business days of approval. We will notify you via email once your refund is processed.
If, after your order is received, there is an error and/or damage to your merchandise, please contact ThePrankAwards@gmail.com for further information and instructions.
Do you hold an event that we have to attend to receive our award?
We would like to honor nominees at a live event held on April 1st but due to COVID regulations, we are still up in the air. We will still be doing a live broadcast online from Hollywood, California on that date. We will try to have people via video accept their awards during the ceremony on April 1st, 2021.

No. We do not rent or sell our entrant or winner lists.
